अनाकर्षक वेश होने पर भी साधु का सम्मान होता है, जैसे जगत में जामवंत और हनुमान का।

Even in an unattractive outward form, a saintly being is honored, as Jambavan and Hanuman are in the world.

बुरी संगति से हानि और अच्छी संगति से लाभ होता है; लोक और वेद में यह सबको विदित है।

Bad company brings harm and good company brings benefit; this is known to everyone in worldly tradition and the Vedas.

धूल हवा की संगति से आकाश में चढ़ती है, पर नीचे बहने वाले जल की संगति से कीचड़ में मिल जाती है।

Dust rises into the sky in the company of wind, but mingles with mud in the company of downward-flowing water.

सज्जनों के घर के तोते और मैना राम का स्मरण करते हैं, जबकि दुर्जनों के घर के पक्षी गिन-गिनकर गालियाँ देते हैं।

Parrots and mynas in good people’s homes remember Rama, whereas those in wicked people’s homes utter abuse again and again.

धुआँ बुरी संगति से कालिख बनता है; वही सुंदर स्याही बनकर पुराण लिखने में काम आता है।

Smoke becomes soot through bad association; that same smoke becomes fine ink with which the Puranas are written.

वही धुआँ जल, अग्नि और वायु के संयोग से बादल बनकर संसार को जीवन देता है।

That same smoke, combined with water, fire, and air, becomes a cloud that gives life to the world.

ग्रह, औषधि, जल, वायु और वस्त्र बुरा या अच्छा संयोग पाकर—

Planets, medicines, water, air, and cloth, upon receiving unfavorable or favorable combinations—

—संसार में हानिकारक या लाभकारी वस्तुएँ बन जाते हैं; विवेकशील लोग इसे पहचानते हैं।

—become harmful or beneficial things in the world; discerning people recognize this.

दोनों पक्षों में प्रकाश और अंधकार समान मात्रा में हैं, फिर भी विधाता ने उनके नामों में भेद किया।

Both lunar fortnights contain equal amounts of light and darkness, yet the Creator distinguished their names.

संसार ने उन्हें चंद्रमा को घटाने वाला और बढ़ाने वाला समझकर क्रमशः अपयश और यश दिया।

Understanding them as diminishing and nourishing the moon, the world assigned blame and praise respectively.

जगत में जितने जड़ और चेतन जीव या अस्तित्व हैं, सबको राममय जानकर—

Knowing all the insentient and sentient beings and existences in the world to be pervaded by Rama—

—मैं सदा दोनों हाथ जोड़कर सबके कमल-समान चरणों की वंदना करता हूँ।

—I ever join both hands and bow to the lotus-like feet of all.

देवता, दानव, मनुष्य, नाग, पक्षी, प्रेत, पितर और गंधर्व—

Gods, demons, humans, nagas, birds, spirits, ancestors, and gandharvas—

—तथा किन्नरों और राक्षसों की मैं वंदना करता हूँ। अब आप सभी कृपा करें।

—as well as kinnaras and demons: I bow to them all. May you all now show grace.
