भरत जहाँ खेल रहे थे, वहीं उन्हें खबर मिली। वे अपने स्नेही भाई शत्रुघ्न के साथ आए।

Bharata received the news where he was playing and came with his affectionate brother Shatrughna.

भरत अत्यंत प्रेम और संकोच से पूछते हैं, ‘पिताजी, यह पत्र कहाँ से आया है?’

With deep affection and modest hesitation, Bharata asks, ‘Father, where has this letter come from?’

‘प्राणों से प्रिय दोनों भाई कुशल तो हैं? बताइए, वे किस देश में हैं?’

‘Are both my brothers, dear as life itself, well? Tell me, in which land are they?’

प्रेम में सने ये वचन सुनकर राजा ने पत्र फिर पढ़ा।

Hearing these words steeped in affection, the king read the letter again.
