हे नाथ, बालक पर स्नेह कीजिए। इसे सीधा-सादा दूधमुँहा बच्चा समझकर क्रोध न कीजिए।

My lord, show affection to the boy. Regard him as an innocent, milk-fed child and do not be angry.

हे प्रभु, यदि यह नासमझ आपका प्रभाव कुछ भी जानता, तो क्या आपकी बराबरी करता?

Lord, if this unknowing boy had understood anything of your might, would he have tried to match you?

यदि बच्चे कुछ शरारत करते हैं, तो गुरु, पिता और माता के मन आनंद से भर जाते हैं।

When children do something mischievous, their teacher, father, and mother are filled with delight.

इसे बालक और अपना सेवक जानकर कृपा कीजिए। आप जैसे सुशील, धीर और ज्ञानी मुनि को ऐसा ही शोभा देता है।

Show kindness, regarding him as a child and your servant. Such kindness befits a sage of your good character, composure, and wisdom.

राम के वचन सुनकर परशुराम कुछ शांत हुए। लक्ष्मण कुछ कहकर फिर मुसकराए।

Hearing Rama's words, Parashurama calmed somewhat. Lakshmana said something and smiled again.

लक्ष्मण को हँसते देखकर परशुराम के शरीर में नख से शिख तक क्रोध फैल गया। वे बोले, 'राम, तुम्हारा भाई बड़ा पापी है।'

Seeing Lakshmana laugh, anger swept through Parashurama from toe to crown. He said, 'Rama, your brother is very sinful.'
