कौशिक, सुनिए! यह बालक मंदबुद्धि, कुटिल, काल के वश में पड़ा और अपने कुल का नाश करने वाला है।

Listen, sage of the Kushika lineage! This boy is foolish, crooked, under death’s sway, and a destroyer of his own family.

यह सूर्यवंशरूपी चंद्रमा का कलंक है; सर्वथा निरंकुश, मूर्ख और निडर है।

He is a blemish on the moon-like solar dynasty: utterly unrestrained, foolish, and without apprehension.

यह क्षण भर में काल का ग्रास बन जाएगा। मैं पुकारकर कह रहा हूँ; मुझ पर दोष नहीं होगा।

He will become death’s prey in a moment. I declare it aloud; the blame will not lie with me.

यदि इसका बचाव चाहते हैं, तो हमारा प्रताप, बल और क्रोध बताकर आप इसे रोकिए।

If you wish to save him, restrain him by telling him of my might, strength, and anger.

लक्ष्मण ने कहा, ‘मुनि, आपके रहते आपके सुयश का वर्णन और कौन कर सकता है?’

Lakshmana said, ‘Sage, while you yourself are present, who else could describe your glorious reputation?’

आपने अपने ही मुँह से अपने कार्यों का अनेक बार, बहुत प्रकार से वर्णन किया है।

You have described your own deeds with your own mouth many times and in many ways.
