लज्जारूपी रात देखकर वाणीरूपी भौंरी मुखरूपी कमल में रुकी रही, बाहर प्रकट नहीं हुई।

Seeing the night of modesty, the bee of speech remained confined within the lotus of her mouth and did not emerge.

आँसुओं का जल आँखों के कोनों में ही रुका रहा, जैसे अत्यंत कंजूस का सोना सँभालकर रखा रहता है।

Tears stayed in the corners of her eyes, like gold kept hoarded by an extreme miser.

अपनी व्याकुलता बहुत बढ़ी जानकर सीता संकुचित हुईं; फिर धीरज धारण करके हृदय में विश्वास लाईं।

Recognizing how great her agitation had become, Sita felt abashed; she steadied herself and brought confidence into her heart.

यदि तन, मन और वचन से मेरा प्रण सच्चा है और मेरा चित्त श्रीराम के चरणकमलों में अनुरक्त है—

If my vow is true in body, mind, and speech, and my heart is devoted to Rama’s lotus feet—

तो सबके हृदय में रहने वाले भगवान मुझे श्रीराम की दासी बनाएँगे।

Then God, who dwells in every heart, will make me Rama’s handmaid.

जिसका जिस पर सच्चा प्रेम होता है, वह उसे मिल जाता है; इसमें कुछ भी संदेह नहीं।

Whoever truly loves someone is united with that beloved; there is no doubt about it.
