शिव का धनुष कैसे डिगता? वह वैसे ही अडिग रहा, जैसे कामी पुरुष के वचनों से पतिव्रता स्त्री का मन नहीं डिगता।

How could Shiva’s bow be shaken? It remained firm, just as a chaste woman’s resolve is not shaken by a lustful man’s words.

सभी राजा उपहास के योग्य हो गए, जैसे वैराग्य के बिना संन्यासी उपहास का पात्र होता है।

All the kings became objects of ridicule, like a renunciant who lacks detachment.

वे धनुष के हाथों विवश होकर अपनी कीर्ति, विजय और बड़ी वीरता हारकर चले।

They departed, having helplessly lost their fame, triumph, and great prowess at the hands of the bow.

राजा मन से हारकर शोभाहीन हो गए और अपनी-अपनी मंडली में जाकर बैठ गए।

Disheartened, the kings lost their splendor and went back to sit among their respective companies.

राजाओं को देखकर जनक व्याकुल हो गए और ऐसे वचन बोले मानो वे रोष में सने हों।
