वे जोश में तनकर, धनुष को देखकर और परखकर पकड़ते हैं; करोड़ों प्रकार से बल लगाते हैं, पर वह उठता नहीं।

Bracing themselves spiritedly, they inspect and assess Shiva’s bow and grasp it; they exert their strength in countless ways, but it does not rise.

जिन राजाओं के मन में कुछ विवेक है, वे धनुष के निकट नहीं जाते।

Those kings who have some discernment do not go near the bow.

मूर्ख राजा जोश में तनकर धनुष पकड़ते हैं; वह उठता नहीं, तो वे लज्जित होकर चले जाते हैं।

The foolish kings brace themselves and seize the bow; when it does not rise, they depart in shame.

मानो योद्धाओं का बाहुबल पाकर धनुष और अधिक, और अधिक भारी होता जाता हो।

It is as though, receiving the warriors’ arm-strength, the bow grows heavier and heavier.
