जिनकी पीठ शत्रु युद्ध में नहीं देख पाते और जिनका मन तथा दृष्टि दूसरे की स्त्रियों को नहीं मिलते—

Those whose backs enemies never see in battle, and whose hearts and glances are never given to other men’s wives—

और जिनसे याचकों को कभी ‘नहीं’ सुनने को नहीं मिलता, ऐसे श्रेष्ठ पुरुष संसार में थोड़े हैं।

And from whom petitioners never receive a refusal—such noble men are few in the world.

राम छोटे भाई से बातचीत कर रहे हैं, पर उनका मन सीता के रूप पर मोहित है।

Rama converses with his younger brother, while his heart is captivated by Sita’s beauty.

उनका मन भौंरे की तरह सीता के मुख-कमल की छबिरूपी मकरंद का पान कर रहा है।

Like a bee, his heart drinks the nectar of beauty from Sita’s lotus-like face.
