जनक की पुत्री जानकी जगत की माता हैं और करुणा के भंडार राम को अत्यंत प्रिय हैं।

Janaki, daughter of Janaka and mother of the world, is exceedingly dear to Rama, the treasury of compassion.

मैं उनके दोनों चरणकमलों की आराधना करता हूँ, जिनकी कृपा से मुझे निर्मल बुद्धि प्राप्त हो।

I worship her two lotus feet, through whose grace I may obtain a pure understanding.

फिर मैं मन, वचन और कर्म से रघुकुल के नायक राम के चरणकमलों की वंदना करता हूँ, जो सब प्रकार से समर्थ हैं।

Then, in thought, speech, and deed, I bow to the lotus feet of Rama, leader of Raghu’s lineage, who is capable in every way.

वे कमलनयन राम धनुष और बाण धारण किए हैं, भक्तों की विपत्तियाँ दूर करते हैं और सुख देते हैं।

Lotus-eyed Rama bears a bow and arrows, dispels his devotees’ troubles, and grants happiness.

वाणी और अर्थ तथा जल और लहर की तरह सीता और राम अलग कहे जाते हैं, पर वास्तव में अलग नहीं हैं।

Like speech and meaning, or water and waves, Sita and Rama are spoken of as distinct, yet are not separate.

मैं सीता और राम के चरणों की वंदना करता हूँ, जिन्हें दुखी जन अत्यंत प्रिय हैं।

I bow to the feet of Sita and Rama, to whom the distressed are exceedingly dear.
