वे इच्छानुसार रूप बदलने वाले, अनेक प्रकार के दुष्ट, कुटिल, भयंकर और विवेकहीन थे।

They could assume forms at will and were wicked beings of many kinds—devious, terrifying, and devoid of discernment.

सभी दयाहीन, हिंसक और पापी थे; संसार को संताप देने वाले उन राक्षसों का वर्णन नहीं किया जा सकता।

All were merciless, violent, and sinful; those tormentors of the world were beyond description.

यद्यपि वे पुलस्त्य ऋषि के पवित्र, निर्मल और अनुपम कुल में जन्मे,

Although they were born in sage Pulastya’s sacred, stainless, and peerless lineage,

तथापि ब्राह्मणों के शाप के वश होकर वे सब पाप के मूर्त रूप हो गए।

Nevertheless, under the force of the Brahmins’ curse, they all became embodiments of sin.
