बालकाण्ड 1.15

प्रेम देखकर और अनमोल वचन सुनकर करुणानिधान प्रभु बोले, ‘ऐसा ही हो।’

Seeing their love and hearing their priceless words, the compassionate Lord said, “So be it.”

‘अपने समान किसी को खोजने कहाँ जाऊँ? हे राजन्, मैं स्वयं आकर तुम्हारा पुत्र बनूँगा।’

“Where shall I go to find someone like myself? O king, I myself shall come and become your son.”

हाथ जोड़े हुए शतरूपा को देखकर प्रभु बोले, ‘हे देवी, जो तुम्हें रुचे वह वर माँगो।’

Seeing Shatarupa with her hands joined, the Lord said, “O lady, ask for whatever boon pleases you.”

शतरूपा बोलीं, ‘हे नाथ, चतुर राजा ने जो वर माँगा, हे कृपालु, वही मुझे अत्यंत प्रिय लगा।’

Shatarupa said, “O Lord, the boon the discerning king requested is very dear to me, O compassionate one.”

‘परंतु हे प्रभु, यह बहुत ढिठाई होती है, यद्यपि भक्तों के हित की ऐसी ढिठाई आपको अच्छी लगती है।’

“Yet, Lord, this is very audacious, although such boldness for devotees’ good is pleasing to you.”

‘आप ब्रह्मा आदि के जनक, जगत के स्वामी, ब्रह्म और सबके हृदयों का अंतर जानने वाले हैं।’

“You are the progenitor of Brahma and the others, the Lord of the world, the Absolute, and the knower of every heart.”
