नारद आरोप लगाते हैं: ‘तुम दूसरों की संपन्नता देख नहीं सकते। तुममें ईर्ष्या और कपट बहुत अधिक हैं।’

Narada accuses him: ‘You cannot bear to see others prosper. Jealousy and deceit are especially strong in you.’

‘समुद्र-मंथन के समय तुमने रुद्र को बावला कर दिया; देवताओं को उकसाकर उनसे रुद्र को विष पिलवाया।’

‘During the churning of the ocean, you drove Rudra to distraction; by prompting the gods, you had them make him drink poison.’

‘असुरों को मदिरा मिली, शिव को विष मिला, और तुमने अपने लिए लक्ष्मी तथा सुंदर मणि रख ली।’

‘The demons received liquor, Shiva received poison, and you kept Lakshmi and the beautiful jewel for yourself.’

‘तुम अपने स्वार्थ साधने वाले और कुटिल हो; तुम्हारा व्यवहार सदा छलपूर्ण है।’

‘You pursue your own interests and are crooked; your conduct is always deceitful.’
