जब कामदेव उस आश्रम में गए, तब उन्होंने अपनी माया से वसंत रच दिया।

When Kama entered that hermitage, he created spring through his own illusory power.

विविध प्रकार के वृक्ष अनेक रंगों के फूलों से खिल उठे; कोयलें कूकती हैं और भौंरे गूँजते हैं।

Various trees blossomed in many colors; cuckoos call and bees hum.

शीतल, मंद और सुगंधित सुहावनी हवा चली, जो कामना की आग बढ़ाने वाली थी।

A pleasant breeze—cool, gentle, and fragrant—blew, fanning the fire of desire.

रंभा आदि तरुण अप्सराएँ थीं, जो सभी कामदेव की कलाओं में निपुण थीं।

There were youthful celestial women such as Rambha, all skilled in Kama’s arts.

वे अनेक लहराती तानों के साथ गान करती हैं; प्राणी और पक्षी तरह-तरह से क्रीड़ा करते हैं—यहाँ ‘पानि’ का पाठ संदिग्ध है।

They sing with many flowing melodic runs; creatures and birds frolic in various ways—the reading ‘पानि’ is uncertain here.

सहायकों को देखकर कामदेव प्रसन्न हुए; फिर उन्होंने अनेक प्रकार के छल-उपाय किए।

Seeing his helpers, Kama rejoiced; he then devised many kinds of deceptive schemes.
