विविध वस्त्र, तकिए और गद्दे दूध के फेन जैसे कोमल, उज्ज्वल और सुंदर थे।

Various fabrics, pillows, and mattresses were soft, white, and lovely like milk foam.

वहाँ सीता और राम रात को शयन करते थे; अपनी सुंदरता से वे रति और कामदेव का सौंदर्य-अभिमान हर लेते थे।

There Sita and Rama slept at night; their beauty humbled the pride of Rati and the god of love.

वे ही सीता और राम घास के बिछौने पर सोए हैं, जिन्हें कभी रेशमी वस्त्रों के बिना नहीं देखा गया।

Those very Sita and Rama lie asleep on a grass bed, though they were never seen without silken garments.

माता-पिता, परिजन, नगरवासी, सुशील मित्र तथा सेवक और सेविकाएँ—

Mother and father, relatives, townspeople, virtuous friends, and male and female attendants—

जिन राम को ये सब अपने प्राणों की तरह सँभालते थे, वही स्वामी राम धरती पर सो रहे हैं।

The very Lord Rama whom all these people cherished like their own lives is sleeping on the ground.

सीता के पिता जनक हैं, जिनका प्रताप जगत में प्रसिद्ध है; उनके ससुर रघुराज दशरथ हैं, जो देवराज इंद्र के मित्र हैं।

Sita’s father is Janaka, whose glory is renowned throughout the world; her father-in-law is Dasharatha, king of the Raghu line and friend of Indra.
