अयोध्याकाण्ड 2.36

मैं हाथ जोड़कर कहता हूँ: जब तक मैं जीवित रहूँ, तब तक फिर कुछ मत कहना।

With folded hands I say: as long as I live, do not say anything again.

अभागी, अंत में तुम फिर पछताओगी; गाय को मारकर तुमने बाघ से लगाव किया है।

Unfortunate woman, you will regret this in the end: you kill the cow and attach yourself to a tiger.

राजा यह कहकर गिर पड़े; उन्होंने अनेक प्रकार से कहा, ‘तुम क्यों मेरा अंत कर रही हो?’

The king fell after speaking, pleading in countless ways, ‘Why are you bringing about my end?’

कपट में चतुर कैकेयी कुछ नहीं कहती; वह जागती हुई मानो श्मशान-सी निस्तब्ध है।

Kaikeyi, skilled in deceit, says nothing; awake, she is as silent as a cremation ground.
