अयोध्याकाण्ड 2.315

प्रिय भाई, तुम्हारी, मेरी और परिजनों की, घर और वन की चिंता गुरु और राजा को है।

Dear brother, the guru and the king are concerned for you, me, our relatives, and affairs at home and in the forest.

हमारे सिर पर गुरु, मुनि और मिथिला के राजा का संरक्षण है; हमें और तुम्हें स्वप्न में भी क्लेश नहीं होगा।

With the guru, the sage, and the king of Mithila watching over us, neither you nor I will suffer distress even in a dream.

मेरा और तुम्हारा सर्वोच्च पुरुषार्थ, अपना हित, सुयश, धर्म और परम हित—सब इसी में हैं कि हम दोनों भाई पिता की आज्ञा पालें।

My and your highest endeavor, personal welfare, good renown, duty, and ultimate good all lie in our two brothers obeying our father's command.

हम दोनों भाई पिता की आज्ञा का पालन करेंगे; यह लोकाचार और वेद की दृष्टि से उचित है और राजा की भलाई भी इसी में है।

We two brothers shall obey our father's command; this is right according to worldly custom and the Vedas, and serves the king's welfare.

गुरु, पिता, माता और स्वामी की सीख मानने पर, गलत राह पर चलते हुए भी पाँव गड्ढे में नहीं पड़ते।

When one follows the guidance of guru, father, mother, and master, one's feet do not fall into a pit even while traveling a bad path.

ऐसा विचार करके सारी चिंता छोड़ दो और अयोध्या जाकर निर्धारित अवधि भर उसका पालन करो।

Reflecting thus, abandon all anxiety, go to Ayodhya, and govern it for the appointed period.
