धर्म की कथाएँ प्रेमपूर्वक कहते-कहते भोर हो गया; वह रात सुख से बीती।

As they lovingly recounted stories of dharma, dawn arrived; that night passed happily.

भरत और उनके भाई ने नित्यकर्म पूरे करके राम, अत्रि और गुरु की आज्ञा प्राप्त की।

Bharata and his brother completed their daily observances and obtained permission from Rama, Atri, and their preceptor.

सारे प्रबंध तैयार करके, अपने दल सहित वे राम के वन में पैदल घूमने चले।

With all arrangements made, they set out on foot with their company to explore Rama’s forest.

उनके कोमल चरण बिना जूतों के चलते देखकर भूमि मन-ही-मन संकोच करके मुलायम हो गई।

As their tender feet walked without footwear, the earth felt inwardly abashed and became soft.

धरती ने कुश, काँटे, कंकड़, दरारें तथा चुभने वाली कठोर और हानिकारक वस्तुएँ छिपा दीं।

The earth concealed sharp grass, thorns, pebbles, cracks, and other painful, hard, harmful things.

धरती ने सुंदर, मुलायम रास्ते बना दिए; हवा तीन प्रकार का सुख लिए बहने लगी।

The earth made the paths beautiful and soft; the breeze blew, carrying threefold comfort.
