तात, आप सूर्यवंश की रीति, पिता की सत्यप्रतिज्ञता तथा कीर्ति के प्रति उनके प्रेम को जानते हैं।

Dear brother, you know the tradition of the solar dynasty, Father's steadfastness in keeping his word, and his love of a good name.

आप समय और सभा की स्थिति, गुरुजनों की मर्यादा तथा उदासीनों, हितैषियों और अहित चाहने वालों के मन की बात जानते हैं।

You know the circumstances and the assembly, the honor due to elders, and the thoughts of those who are neutral, friendly, or hostile.

आपको सबके कर्म विदित हैं, और अपना तथा मेरा परम हित और धर्म भी ज्ञात है।

You know everyone's deeds, as well as your own and my highest good and duty.

मुझे आप पर हर प्रकार से भरोसा है; फिर भी अवसर के अनुसार कुछ कहता हूँ।

I trust you in every way; nevertheless, I speak as the occasion requires.

प्रिय भाई, पिता के बिना हमारी स्थिति केवल गुरु के कुल की कृपा से सँभली है।

Dear brother, without Father, our affairs have been sustained solely by the grace of the guru's household.

नहीं तो प्रजा, परिजन और परिवार—हम सहित सभी दुर्दशा में पड़ जाते।

Otherwise, the subjects, relatives, and household—all of them, including us—would have fallen into distress.
