प्रभु के चरण-कमलों की रज की दुहाई देता हूँ, जो सत्य, पुण्य और सुख की सुंदर परम सीमा है।

I invoke the dust of the Lord’s lotus feet as my solemn pledge—the beautiful culmination of truth, merit, and happiness.

वह शपथ लेकर मैं अपने हृदय की अभिलाषा कहता हूँ, जो जागते, सोते और सपने में भी बनी रहती है।

Taking that pledge, I state my heart’s desire, which remains with me while awake, asleep, and dreaming.

स्वार्थ, छल और चारों पुरुषार्थों के फल छोड़कर स्वाभाविक प्रेम से स्वामी की सेवा करना ही मेरी अभिलाषा है।

My desire is to serve my master with spontaneous love, abandoning self-interest, deceit, and the rewards of the four aims of life.

उत्तम स्वामी की सेवा में उनकी आज्ञा मानने के समान कुछ नहीं। हे प्रभु, आपके इस सेवक को वही अनुग्रह मिले।

No service to a good master equals obeying his command. O Lord, may this servant receive that favor.

ऐसा कहकर भरत प्रेम से अत्यंत अभिभूत हो गए; उनका शरीर रोमांचित हो उठा और आँखों में आँसू भर आए।

Saying this, Bharata was deeply overcome with love; his body thrilled, and tears filled his eyes.

भावावेश में भरत ने प्रभु के चरण-कमल पकड़ लिए। उस समय और उस प्रेम का वर्णन नहीं किया जा सकता।

In emotional agitation, Bharata clasped the Lord’s lotus feet. That moment and that love cannot be described.
