अयोध्याकाण्ड 2.298

आप प्रभु, पिता, माता, मित्र, गुरु और स्वामी हैं; परम पूजनीय, परम हितैषी और अंतर्यामी हैं।

You are lord, father, mother, friend, teacher, and master—supremely worthy of reverence, the greatest well-wisher, and knower of hearts.

आप सरल, उत्तम स्वामी, शील के भंडार, शरणागतों के रक्षक, सर्वज्ञ और सुबुद्धि हैं।

You are straightforward, an excellent master, a treasury of noble conduct, protector of those who bow to you, all-knowing and wise.

आप समर्थ, शरणागतों के हितकारी, गुणों को स्वीकार करने वाले और अवगुण तथा पाप हरने वाले हैं।

You are powerful, a benefactor of those seeking refuge, appreciative of virtues, and a remover of faults and sins.

हे स्वामी, आपके समान स्वामी आप ही हैं, और मेरे समान मैं ही हूँ—हे स्वामी, आपकी दुहाई है।

O master, you alone are a master like yourself, and I alone am one like me—I invoke your name as my solemn appeal.

हे प्रभु, मोह के वश होकर पिता के वचन को ठुकराकर मैं लोगों का समूह जुटाकर यहाँ आया हूँ।

Lord, overcome by attachment, I disregarded my father's word and came here after gathering this company.

जगत में अच्छे-बुरे, ऊँचे-नीचे, अमृत और अमरत्व, विष और मृत्यु—इनमें से किसी को भी [राम की आज्ञा मिटाने वाला नहीं देखा-सुना गया है]।

In the world, the good and bad, high and low, nectar and immortality, poison and death—[none has been seen or heard of as setting aside Rama's command].
