अयोध्याकाण्ड 2.258

व्याकुल लोग कभी सोच-विचारकर नहीं बोलते; जुआरी को अपना ही दाँव सूझता है।

Distressed people never speak with due reflection; a gambler sees only his own move.

मुनि के वचन सुनकर श्रीराम कहते हैं, ‘नाथ, उपाय आपके ही हाथ में है।’

Hearing the sage’s words, Rama says, ‘Master, the solution lies in your hands alone.’

आपकी इच्छा का पालन करने में सबका हित है। आज्ञा दें तो मैं प्रसन्न होकर सत्य कहूँ।

Everyone’s welfare lies in honoring your wishes. If you permit, I shall gladly speak the truth.

पहले मुझे जो आज्ञा मिलेगी, उसे सिर माथे मानकर मैं उसी निर्देश का पालन करूँगा।

First, whatever command is given to me, I shall respectfully accept and carry out that instruction.

फिर, हे स्वामी, जिसे जैसा निर्देश आप देंगे, वह हर तरह से सेवा में उसे पूरा करेगा।

Then, master, whoever receives whatever instruction from you will fulfill it in service in every way.

मुनि कहते हैं, ‘राम, तुमने सत्य कहा; पर भरत के स्नेह ने मेरे विवेक को स्थिर नहीं रहने दिया।’

The sage says, ‘Rama, you have spoken truly; but Bharata’s love has unsettled my judgment.’
