वेदों में वर्णित विधि से पिता के अंतिम संस्कार करके, पापरूपी अंधकार के लिए सूर्यस्वरूप राम शुद्ध हुए।

After performing his father's funeral rites as prescribed in the Vedas, Rama, who is like the sun dispelling the darkness of sin, became ritually pure.

जिनका नाम पापरूपी रूई के लिए अग्नि है और जिनका स्मरण समस्त शुभ मंगलों का मूल है।

His name is fire to the cotton of sin, and remembrance of him is the source of every blessing.

वे राम शुद्ध हुए—साधुजन इसे ऐसा मानते हैं जैसे गंगा में तीर्थों का आवाहन करना।

That Rama became pure is, in the judgment of the holy, like invoking sacred bathing places into the Ganges.

शुद्धि के बाद दो दिन बीत गए। तब राम गुरु से प्रेमपूर्वक बोले।

Two days passed after the ritual purification. Then Rama spoke lovingly to his teacher.

हे नाथ, सब लोग अत्यंत दुखी हैं और कंद, मूल, फल तथा जल पर निर्वाह कर रहे हैं।

Master, all the people are deeply distressed, subsisting on tubers, roots, fruit, and water.

छोटे भाई सहित भरत, मंत्रियों और सभी माताओं को देखकर मुझे एक पल युग के समान बीतता है।

Seeing Bharata with his younger brother, the ministers, and all the mothers, each moment passes for me like an age.
