सीता और सभी रानियाँ स्नेह से व्याकुल थीं। ज्ञानी गुरु ने सबको बैठने के लिए कहा।

Sita and all the queens were distraught with affection. The wise preceptor asked everyone to sit.

मुनिश्रेष्ठ ने संसार की गति को मायामय बताकर परमार्थ की कुछ बातें कहीं।

The chief sage explained the illusory nature of worldly existence and spoke somewhat about spiritual truth.

उन्होंने राजा दशरथ के स्वर्गगमन का समाचार सुनाया। सुनकर राम को असहनीय दुख हुआ।

He reported King Dasharatha’s departure to heaven. Hearing this, Rama suffered unbearable grief.

यह विचारकर कि अपने प्रति पिता का प्रेम ही उनकी मृत्यु का कारण बना, धैर्य के अग्रणी राम अत्यंत व्याकुल हो गए।

Reflecting that his father’s love for him had caused his death, Rama, foremost in fortitude, became deeply distraught.

वज्र के समान कठोर, दुखद समाचार सुनकर लक्ष्मण, सीता और सभी रानियाँ विलाप करने लगीं।

Hearing the bitter news, hard as a thunderbolt, Lakshmana, Sita, and all the queens lamented.

पूरा समुदाय शोक से अत्यंत व्याकुल था, मानो राजा की मृत्यु आज ही हुई हो।

The entire gathering was deeply overwhelmed with grief, as though the king had died that very day.
