अयोध्याकाण्ड 2.211

मुनियों की सभा और तीर्थराज प्रयाग में सच्ची शपथ भी खाना अत्यंत अनुचित है।

In an assembly of sages and at Prayag, the foremost pilgrimage place, even swearing a truthful oath is highly improper.

इस स्थान पर यदि कुछ बनाकर कहा जाए, तो उससे बढ़कर कोई पाप या नीचता नहीं है।

If one says anything fabricated in this place, there is no greater sin or baseness.

आप सब जानते हैं; मैं अपने मन का सच्चा भाव कहता हूँ। रघुनाथ मेरे हृदय के भीतर की बात जानते हैं।

You know everything; I speak my true feelings. Rama, lord of the Raghu line, knows what lies within my heart.

मुझे माता के किए का संताप नहीं है, न मन में यह दुख है कि संसार मुझे नीच समझेगा।

I am not distressed over my mother's deed, nor does it pain my heart that the world will consider me base.

मुझे यह भय नहीं कि मेरा परलोक बिगड़ेगा; पिता की मृत्यु का भी मुझे शोक नहीं है।

I do not fear that my fate in the next world will be ruined; nor do I grieve even over my father's death.

पिता के पुण्यकर्म और सुंदर यश सारे संसार में शोभायमान हैं; उन्होंने लक्ष्मण और राम जैसे पुत्र पाए।

My father's virtuous deeds and good renown shine throughout the world; he was blessed with sons like Lakshmana and Rama.
