माता के वचन आदर से स्वीकार कर और उनके चरणों में सिर झुकाकर दोनों भाई रथ पर चढ़कर चल पड़े।

Respectfully accepting their mother’s words and bowing their heads at her feet, both brothers mounted the chariot and set off.

पहले दिन तमसा नदी पर पड़ाव किया और दूसरे दिन गोमती के तट पर ठहरे।

They camped by the Tamasa River on the first day and stayed on the bank of the Gomati on the second.

कुछ लोग दूध का आहार लेते थे, कुछ फल खाते थे और कुछ केवल रात में भोजन करते थे।

Some people subsisted on milk, some ate fruit, and some took their meal only at night.

वे आभूषण और भोग-विलास छोड़कर राम के लिए नियम और व्रत कर रहे थे।

Giving up ornaments and pleasures, they observed disciplines and vows for Rama’s sake.
