राम के दर्शन की चाह में सभी स्त्री-पुरुष ऐसे चले, मानो हाथी और हथिनियाँ पानी की ओर देखकर चल रहे हों।

Drawn by the desire to see Rama, all the men and women went as though elephants and female elephants were heading toward water.

सीता और राम को वन में जानकर भरत अपने छोटे भाई सहित पैदल जा रहे हैं।

Keeping in mind that Sita and Rama are in the forest, Bharata travels on foot with his younger brother.

भरत का प्रेम देखकर लोग भी प्रेम से भर गए और घोड़ों, हाथियों तथा रथों से उतरकर उन्हें छोड़ पैदल चल पड़े।

Seeing Bharata’s love, the people were moved with affection; they dismounted and proceeded on foot, leaving their horses, elephants, and chariots.

राम की माता कौसल्या ने पास जाकर अपनी डोली रखवाई और कोमल वाणी में कहा।

Rama’s mother Kaushalya came near, had her palanquin set down, and spoke gently.

बेटा, रथ पर चढ़ो; तुम्हारी माँ तुम पर बलिहारी है। तुम्हारा प्रिय परिवार कष्ट पाएगा।

Dear son, mount the chariot; your mother would give herself for you. Your dear family will suffer.

तुम्हारे पैदल चलने पर सभी लोग भी पैदल चलेंगे। सब शोक से दुर्बल हैं और मार्ग पर चलने योग्य नहीं हैं।

If you walk, everyone else will walk too. All are weakened by grief and unfit to travel the road on foot.
