अयोध्याकाण्ड 2.176

कौसल्या धैर्य धारण करके कहती हैं, “बेटा, गुरु की आज्ञा हितकारी है।”

Gathering her composure, Kausalya says, “Son, the guru’s command is beneficial.”

उस आज्ञा का आदर करो और उसे हितकारी मानकर उसका पालन करो। समय की गति समझकर शोक छोड़ दो।

Honor that command and carry it out, recognizing it as beneficial. Understand the course of time and relinquish sorrow.

राम वन में हैं और महाराज दशरथ स्वर्ग में हैं; बेटा, तुम इस प्रकार कातर हो रहे हो।

Rama is in the forest, and King Dasharatha is in heaven; dear son, you are becoming so distraught.

परिवारजन, प्रजा, मंत्री और सभी माताएँ—बेटा, इन सबके लिए तुम्हीं सहारा हो।

The family, the subjects, the ministers, and all the mothers—son, you alone are their support.

विधाता को प्रतिकूल और समय को कठिन देखकर धैर्य रखो; तुम्हारी माता तुम पर बलिहारी जाती है।

Seeing that fate is adverse and the times are difficult, remain steadfast; your mother offers herself in loving devotion to you.

गुरु की आज्ञा सिर पर रखकर उसका पालन करो। प्रजा का पालन करो और परिवारजनों का दुःख दूर करो।

Reverently accept the guru’s command and follow it. Care for the subjects and relieve the suffering of your family.
