अयोध्याकाण्ड 2.166

मुख प्रसन्न था; मन में न आसक्ति थी, न रोष। सबको हर प्रकार से संतुष्ट करके राम चले।

His face was serene, with neither attachment nor anger in his mind. Rama satisfied everyone in every way before departing.

राम के वन जाने की बात सुनकर सीता साथ हो लीं; राम के चरणों में अनुरक्त सीता पीछे नहीं रहीं।

Hearing that Rama was leaving for the forest, Sita joined him; devoted to Rama's feet, she would not stay behind.

सुनते ही लक्ष्मण उठकर साथ चल पड़े। राम के प्रयत्न करने पर भी वे पीछे नहीं रहे।

As soon as he heard, Lakshmana rose and set out with them. Despite Rama's efforts, he would not stay behind.

तब राम सबको सिर नवाकर चले; उनके साथ सीता और छोटे भाई लक्ष्मण थे।

Then Rama bowed his head to everyone and departed, accompanied by Sita and his younger brother Lakshmana.

राम, लक्ष्मण और सीता वन चले गए। मैं न साथ गई, न अपने प्राण उनके पीछे भेज सकी।

Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita departed for the forest. I neither went with them nor sent my life after them.

यह सब इन्हीं आँखों के सामने हुआ, फिर भी इस अभागे जीव ने शरीर नहीं छोड़ा।

All this happened before these very eyes, yet this unfortunate soul did not leave the body.
