सरल स्वभाव वाली माता ने उन्हें हृदय से लगा लिया; उनका अत्यंत प्रेम ऐसा था मानो राम लौट आए हों।

The gentle-natured mother clasped him to her heart with such deep affection that it seemed Rama himself had returned.

फिर लक्ष्मण के छोटे भाई शत्रुघ्न से भेंट हुई; शोक और स्नेह हृदय में समा नहीं रहे थे।

Then came the meeting with Lakshmana’s younger brother, Shatrughna; grief and affection overflowed the heart.

उनका स्वभाव देखकर सभी कहते हैं, ‘राम की माता ऐसी क्यों न हों!’

Seeing her disposition, everyone says, ‘Why would Rama’s mother not be like this!’

माता ने भरत को गोद में बैठाया, आँसू पोंछे और कोमल वचन कहे।

The mother seated Bharata in her lap, wiped away his tears, and spoke gentle words.

‘बेटा, मैं तुम पर न्योछावर हूँ; अब भी धैर्य रखो। इसे बुरा समय समझकर शोक छोड़ो।’

‘My child, I am devoted to you; even now, hold firm. Recognize this as an adverse time and let go of grief.’

‘काल और कर्म की गति को अकल्पनीय जानकर हृदय में हानि का दुःख और ग्लानि मत मानो।’

‘Knowing the course of time and deeds to be beyond imagining, do not harbor distress over loss or self-reproach in your heart.’
