यदि तुझमें इतनी बुरी चाह थी, तो जन्म लेते ही मुझे क्यों नहीं मार दिया?

If you harbored such an evil desire, why did you not kill me at birth?

तूने पेड़ काटकर उसके पत्ते सींचे और मछली को जीवित रखने के लिए निरंतर पानी उलीच दिया।

You cut down the tree and watered its leaves; to keep the fish alive, you continually bailed out the water.

मेरा वंश सूर्यवंश है, पिता दशरथ हैं और राम-लक्ष्मण जैसे भाई हैं।

Mine is the solar dynasty, Dasharatha is my father, and I have brothers such as Rama and Lakshmana.

हे माँ, तू मेरी जननी हुई; विधाता के सामने किसी का कुछ वश नहीं चलता।

Mother, you became my mother; no one has any power against fate.
