दशरथ ने जीने और मरने, दोनों का फल पाया; उनका निर्मल यश अनेक ब्रह्मांडों में छा गया।

Dasharatha attained the fulfillment of both life and death; his spotless fame spread across countless universes.

जीते हुए उन्होंने राम का चंद्रमा-समान मुख देखा और राम के विरह में अपना मरण सार्थक किया।

While alive, he beheld Rama’s moonlike face, and through separation from Rama he gave fulfillment to his death.

सभी रानियाँ शोक से व्याकुल होकर दशरथ के रूप, शील, बल और तेज का वर्णन करते हुए रो रही हैं।

All the queens, distraught with grief, weep while recounting Dasharatha’s beauty, character, strength, and splendor.

वे अनेक प्रकार से विलाप करती हैं और बार-बार भूमि पर गिर पड़ती हैं।

They lament in many ways and fall to the ground again and again.

व्याकुल दास और दासियाँ विलाप करते हैं; नगरवासी घर-घर रोते हैं।

Distraught male and female servants lament; the townspeople weep in every home.

आज सूर्यवंश के सूर्य अस्त हो गए—वे धर्म की चरम सीमा और गुण तथा रूप के भंडार थे।

Today the sun of the solar dynasty has set—he was the pinnacle of righteousness and a treasury of virtue and beauty.
