अयोध्याकाण्ड 2.133

रघुवर राम ने कहा, “लक्ष्मण, यह घाट अच्छा है। अब कहीं रहने के स्थान की व्यवस्था करो।”

Rama said, “Lakshmana, this riverbank is good. Now arrange a place to stay somewhere here.”

लक्ष्मण ने देखा कि नदी के उत्तर का ऊँचा तट चारों ओर धनुष की डोरी की तरह घूमा हुआ है।

Lakshmana saw that the river’s high northern bank curved around like a bowstring.

नदी धनुष है और मन का संयम, इंद्रियों का संयम तथा दान उसके बाण हैं; समस्त पाप और कलियुग के अनेक दोष शिकार के पशु हैं।

The river is the bow, and restraint of the mind, restraint of the senses, and charity are its arrows; all sins and the many evils of the Kali age are the game animals.

चित्रकूट मानो अडिग पर्वत-रूपी शिकारी है, जिसका निशाना नहीं चूकता और जो एक साथ बाणों की बौछार से शिकार मारता है।

Chitrakuta is like a steadfast mountain-hunter whose aim never fails and who slays the game with a volley of arrows.

ऐसा कहकर लक्ष्मण ने स्थान दिखाया। उस स्थल को देखकर राम प्रसन्न हुए।

Having said this, Lakshmana showed the place. Seeing the site, Rama was pleased.

देवताओं ने जान लिया कि राम का मन वहाँ रम गया है। वे देवताओं के प्रधान शिल्पी को साथ लेकर चले।

The gods realized that Rama’s heart delighted in the place. They set out with the chief architect of the gods.
