तब मुनि ऐसे व्याकुल होकर उठे जैसे अपनी मणि खो चुका श्रेष्ठ सर्प व्याकुल होता है।

Then the sage rose in agitation, like a mighty serpent distraught at losing its jewel.

उन्होंने सामने श्याम शरीर वाले, सुख के धाम राम को सीता और छोटे भाई सहित देखा।

Before him he saw dark-bodied Rama, the abode of joy, together with Sita and his younger brother.

प्रेम में डूबे परम भाग्यशाली मुनिवर राम के चरणों से लगकर दंड की तरह गिर पड़े।

Immersed in love, the greatly fortunate sage fell like a staff, clasping Rama’s feet.

राम ने अपनी विशाल भुजाओं से पकड़कर उन्हें उठा लिया और परम प्रेम से छाती से लगाए रखा।

Rama grasped and lifted him with his mighty arms, holding him to his chest with deepest love.

मुनि से मिलते हुए कृपालु राम ऐसे शोभित हुए, मानो तमाल का वृक्ष किसी स्वर्ण-वृक्ष से आलिंगन कर रहा हो।

Embracing the sage, compassionate Rama looked as though a tamala tree were embracing a golden tree.

राम का मुख निहारते हुए मुनि ऐसे खड़े रहे, मानो चित्र में अंकित किए गए हों।

Gazing at Rama’s face, the sage stood still, as though painted into a picture.

तब मुनि ने हृदय में धैर्य सँभाला और बार-बार प्रभु के चरण पकड़े। दिए हुए पाठ में ‘धीर धीर’ का दूसरा पद संदिग्ध है।

Then the sage steadied his heart and repeatedly clasped the Lord’s feet. The second ‘धीर’ in the supplied text is uncertain.

प्रभु को अपने आश्रम में लाकर मुनि ने विविध प्रकार से उनकी पूजा की।

Bringing the Lord to his own hermitage, the sage worshipped him in various ways.
