अरण्यकाण्ड 3.1

मुनि ने अविच्छिन्न प्रेम-भक्ति प्राप्त की; प्रभु वृक्ष की ओट में छिपकर उन्हें देख रहे थे।

The sage attained unbroken loving devotion; the Lord watched him while hidden behind a tree.

अत्यधिक प्रेम देखकर संसार का भय हरने वाले रघुवीर उनके हृदय में प्रकट हुए।

Seeing his immense love, Rama, hero of Raghu’s line and remover of worldly fear, appeared in his heart.

मुनि मार्ग के बीच अचल होकर बैठ गए; उनका रोमांचित शरीर कटहल के फल जैसा हो गया।

The sage sat motionless in the middle of the path; his body, bristling with horripilation, resembled a jackfruit.

तब रघुनाथ पास चले आए; अपने भक्त की दशा देखकर वे मन में प्रसन्न हुए।

Then Rama came near; seeing his devotee’s state, he was pleased at heart.

राम ने मुनि को अनेक प्रकार से जगाया, पर वे जागे नहीं; वे ध्यान से उत्पन्न सुख अनुभव कर रहे थे।

Rama tried in many ways to awaken the sage, but he did not wake, experiencing the bliss born of meditation.

तब राम ने अपना राजकीय रूप छिपाकर मुनि के हृदय में चार भुजाओं वाला रूप दिखाया।

Then Rama concealed his royal form and showed his four-armed form in the sage’s heart.
