Ravana went near that forest. Then Maricha assumed the deceptive form of a deer.

It was so extraordinary that it could not be described. He fashioned a golden body adorned with gems.

Sita saw the exceedingly beautiful deer, whose every limb had a most captivating appearance.

Listen, my lord, compassionate hero of Raghu’s line! This deer’s hide is exceedingly beautiful.

Sita says, ‘Lord, faithful to your word, kill this deer and bring its hide.’

Then Rama, knowing all the reasons, rose joyfully to accomplish the gods’ purpose.
