अरण्यकाण्ड 3.11

हे स्वामी, सगुण और निर्गुण को जो जानते हैं, वे जानें; आप हृदय के भीतर की बात जानते हैं।

Lord, let those who know your attributed and attributeless nature know it; you know the heart from within.

जो कोसल के स्वामी और कमल-नयन हैं, वही राम मेरे हृदय को अपना निवास बनाएँ।

May that Rama, lord of Kosala and lotus-eyed, make my heart his dwelling.

यह भाव भूल से भी न छूटे कि मैं सेवक हूँ और रघुपति मेरे स्वामी हैं।

May this conviction never leave me, even inadvertently: I am the servant, and Rama is my master.

मुनि के वचन सुनकर वे राम के मन को प्रिय लगे; फिर राम ने प्रसन्न होकर श्रेष्ठ मुनि को हृदय से लगा लिया।

The sage’s words pleased Rama upon hearing them; rejoicing, he again clasped the noble sage to his chest.

राम बोले—मुनि, मुझे अत्यंत प्रसन्न जानिए। जो वर माँगेंगे, वही मैं आपको दूँगा।

Rama said, “Sage, know that I am greatly pleased. Whatever boon you ask, I will give you.”

मुनि कहते हैं—मैंने कभी वर नहीं माँगा; मुझे समझ नहीं पड़ता कि क्या झूठ है और क्या सच्चा।

The sage says, “I have never asked for a boon; I cannot discern what is false and what is true.”
